The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has exonerated Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana housing scam. According to the NAB report, no evidence of corruption was found against Shehbaz Sharif in awarding the Ashiana housing contract.

The report also stated that there was no loss to the national exchequer in the Ashiana project and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif did not get any benefit.
The NAB report said that there was no evidence of illegal use of power against Shehbaz Sharif.

The NAB report pointed out that no element of malice against Shehbaz Sharif was proved in the Ashiana scam. The report added that Kamran Kayani did not harm the national exchequer and Fawad Hasan Fawad did not take any bribe.

The Accountability Bureau responded to Shehbaz Sharif's plea for acquittal in the case at the Accountability Court in Lahore. It said that the acquittal petition should be decided by the accountability court in accordance with the law.

The court summoned the lawyers for arguments. The hearing was then adjourned till May 27. Accountability Court judge Sheikh Sajjad Ahmed heard the reference. Advocate Anwar Hussain representing Shehbaz Sharif appeared in the court and identified the presence.
